BLADE SERVICE / NORTHON

Blades under continuous control.

Blades operate under changing temperatures, high aerodynamic loads and continuous exposure to rain, hail, UV radiation and contamination. Regular diagnostics help control damage progression, reduce downtime and schedule corrective work within a suitable service window.

01 / INSPECTION

Inspection and diagnostics

Early identification of erosion, cracks, delamination and coating damage helps schedule corrective work before deterioration progresses. Every inspection includes photographic documentation and a clear record of the location and severity of each finding.

We examine the blade from root to tip, focusing on the leading and trailing edges, bonded areas, protective coating and zones exposed to lightning events. The report records the location, dimensions, classification and recommended priority of each finding.

02 / REPAIR

Repair and protection

We repair laminate, gelcoat, leading and trailing edges and perform local profile restoration. After preparing the surface, we rebuild the required layers, protect the repaired area and complete a final quality inspection.

The repair method is selected for the blade construction and damage extent. We remove weakened material, prepare the substrate, rebuild the composite lay-up, restore the aerodynamic profile and apply the appropriate surface protection.

FAQ / NORTHON

Frequently asked questions about blade service

Which wind turbine blade defects can Northon address?

The scope may include leading-edge erosion, cracks, delamination, laminate and coating damage, and other findings confirmed during inspection. The method is selected after reviewing blade construction and documentation.

Is the blade inspected before repair?

Yes. Condition, position and damage extent are assessed before the repair method, materials, access and records are prepared.

Can work be completed without removing the blade?

Many inspections and repairs can be completed on the turbine from a platform, suspended access system or by rope access. The final method depends on damage position, conditions and project requirements.

How is blade service documented?

The agreed report may include photographs before, during and after repair, damage location, materials, process records and final inspection results.

Does Northon provide blade service outside Poland?

Yes. Northon's mobile teams perform blade inspections and repairs in Poland and other European countries subject to agreed scope and schedule.
